What are the signs?
Signs of depression are very clear to see in adults. However signs may be difficult to see in teens and children. Signs of depression include Agitation, restlessness, becoming withdrawn or isolated, sudden change in appetite, often with weight gain or loss and even thaughts of suicide. Problems with school, behavior, or alcohol or drug use can all be signs. If depression is very severe, you may have hallucinations and delusions (false beliefs). This condition is called depression with psychotic features.
